Uci Weight Management
My grades have suddenly dropped and i am in high school, currently a 11th grader?
i have been a straight A student for all of my freshman year and sophomore year. however, this year, i have decided to take 4 AP classes so my schedule is packed with classes (AP Chemistry, English, Calculus, AP US history) and i have struggled this year, due to poor time management. I only have 2 A’s this year, 3 B’s, and one C. overall, my weighted gpa for this year would probably be a 3.83 or so. however, this is a dramatic drop from my last year’s gpa, which was a 4.3. lately, everyone has been worried about me not making it into a university like UCSD, UCI, etc. are their worries logical? D:
First of all breathe, relax and give yourself a break.
I went though the same thing in high-school I loaded myself with AP classes and activities like prom committee and dance.
You are only one person and you have to know that you’re doing your best. You have a heavy load on your plate right there, and I’m not saying your ignorant but you are human and as humans we can only handle so much.
Your friends and family just want you to succeed but do not let them put undo stress on you. It will only make the situation worse. You need to be sure not to fall into a depression do to this stress. Trust me, I did not enjoy my last year of high school in the least bit.
I’m not saying you need to give up and join all the fun and games. But you need to realize your limits and let others know you feel that you are reaching your limits. If they care about you they should respect you and support you no matter what.
Also (not to discourage) but going to a well known college is not all what it is cracked up to be. As long as you go to college you do well and get your degree, no one can take that degree from you and you’ve earned it. I am personally not going to a prestigious college though I was accepted. The stories from the big named schools are not always the best and in fact sometimes it seems they are doing less learning there than some of the lesser named schools.
Ultimately do what makes you happy. DO not stress yourself over living up to what OTHERS expect of you. Know your limits. Do your best. Be able to smile.
